common questions

Brow lamination involves applying solutions to the brows to change the way the hair sits. The first solution applied breaks the bonds of the hair, allowing us to move the hair into the position we want. The second solution makes the bonds, allowing the hair to stay where we want it to. The treatment is finished with a brow tint and wax.

We recommend waiting 6 weeks in between treatments to allow the hair to recover after product application.

You must keep the brows dry for 24 hours following treatment as water will affect the result. We also recommend using our brow serum in between treatments to keep the brow hair conditioned.

Microblading is a semi-permanent treatment to enhance the brow. A small handheld tool made of several tiny needles is used to add semi-permanent pigment to the skin.

To begin with, a consultation is needed to manage expectations and complete a patch test. This is a 15min appointment.
Your first treatment appointment is 3 hours.
Your second treatment appointment is 2.5 hours.

Your top up appointment is when you will make your final decision on colour and shape. Your top up is important to make sure your brows last as long as possible.

Pre care for microblading is
• Do not tweeze/ wax / tint / have electrolysis 3 days before the treatment
• Do not tan 1 week prior or have a sun bed.
• Do not have any type of facial / peel 2 weeks prior to treatment.
• Discontinue use of vitamin A/ Retinol products one month prior to treatment.
• Do not have botox less than 3 weeks prior to treatment.
• Do not take fish oil or Vitamin E one week prior to treatment (these are natural blood thinners)
• Do not drink alcohol for 24-48 hours before treatment.
• Do not consume coffee just before your treatment.
• Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)

• Wipe over brows every 2-3 hours with cooled, boiled water using a cotton pad. (Make sure the pad is only slightly damp). This removes the lymph fluid which will reduce scabbing.
• Before bed wipe again and apply a rice grain size of healing gel to each brow.
• Use a fresh pillow case to sleep on
Days 1-7
• Wash the brows daily to remove the bacteria and dead skin.
• DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic or AHA) or any exfoliants.
• Apply after care gel every night
• Do not exercise on the day after your treatment

Microblading can last anywhere between 6-24 months, however, there are a number of factors that can affect how long they last. Every client has a different skin type which means the pigment is always held in different ways. Oilier skin has a tendency to push the pigment out, whereas drier skin tends to hold the pigment better. Microblading is not tattooing. Pigment is placed into the epidermis which is the top layer of the skin whereas pigment for a tattoo is placed into the dermis, which is the deeper layer.

The first 10-15mins of the treatment can feel uncomfortable as the numbing gel isn’t applied until after the first strokes are made. After the numbing gel is applied the treatment can be virtually painless. Numbing gel is continually applied after the first strokes until finish.

What does this treatment involve?
Tint is applied to the brows to get the desired colour (can only make them darker) then the wax is used to get your desired shape

Your eyebrow hairs will always grow under the microblade so a wax will be needed to keep your shape.
Your natural brow hairs will stay the same colour that they have always been so if you have very light brows under a darker microblade then you may want to continue with tinting the hair to help them blend into the colour of the microblade.

This depends on the client as an individual. Hair re growth is different for everyone. Same with the tint, this will depend on how pourous your hair is, how often you wash your face and if you wear makeup over the brows.
